"The Three Norns"

The Norns: The three nordic Fates, from left are (Past) Urd, (Present) Verthandi, and (Future) Skuld. They weave the fate of people when they are born. The great ash tree is Yggdrasil, the World Tree. The Norns care for the tree with water from a sacred pool. Two swans swim in this pool which resides between the roots of Yggdrasil.
