Mother Humanity Weeps For Her Children 1992
This sculpture has never been shared but with two friends over the years. One commented that it was 'beautiful, but horrible'. He also commented that it was a political statement and that I had created a piece of artistic 'activism.' This piece had evolved from the events of the late 1980's and early 1990's with the warfare in the Middle East, genocide in Rwanda. From a place deep inside my psyche came this image of 'Mother Humanity' weeping for her children - When I started to sculpt the last figure in the sculpture - it became Christ Crucified - We have not changed so much in these 2 thousand years! To me this was a first message from 'The Great Mother'.
